His Loss Is Our Gain

"For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich." II Cor. 8:9 KJV

Jesus Christ is equal to God the Father in power and glory. He was rich in all the glory of heaven. He for our sake left all the riches of heaven and became poor for us. The Bible says in the book of Philippians 2:7 that He took upon Himself the form of a servant. A servant is a very humble position. It does not pay great dividends in this world. He became flesh and dwelt among us. Christ was 100 percent man and 100 percent God. He became poor so we could be made rich. For there to be a sacrifice, there had to be a body prepared. So Jesus became the likeness of man with one purpose, to die for the sins of mankind. Jesus Christ was touched with all the infirmities that we as humans have, yet was without sin. He became poor so we could be rich. We that are saved are joint heirs with Christ. I have an inheritance that is incorruptible in heaven that fadeth not away. As a poor servant, Christ was obedient to death, even the death of the cross. We have peace through the blood of His cross. Christ became poor for our sakes. I have the rich of forgiven sin, peace, joy, love, eternal life. Oh, how rich we that are redeemed are in Christ Jesus. Bless the Lord, oh my soul. Bless His holy name. Why should I gain from His loss. I cannot understand but I will rejoice and be glad in it.
